Although newer sensor systems can also use microprocessors for faster and more precise measurements, the sensor system is relatively basic compared to other sensors currently available.

The network determines the best site for refueling the tank and the best route to get there. It sends a message to the vehicle information system with the refueling and route information, and devices connected to the vehicle information system display the message to advise the driver of the vehicle when and where to refuel.
